BootVis is software developed by Microsoft to tackle the problem of slower boot time. Many windows XP customers have reported that there is a rapid decline in boot time after using XP for a long time (without formatting).

Microsoft has taken bold actions to make faster startup in XP.

Bootvis is a software that allows computer manufacturers to check the time it takes for windows to boot up completely. The total boot time is judged from the time, the turn on button is pressed, to the time when a user is able to launch an application from desktop shortcut.

Computer manufacturers can check the boot time and hence, optimize it. General users can also benefit from this software.

Users can get information about how much time it takes for their machine to boot up, hence they can optimize and check again if they have gained some speed in boot up.

NOTE: Microsoft has discontinued distributing this software from their website. So, you won’t find it on the microsoft’s website. But, still you can download it from the internet for free.
