If you want to speed up browsing, when you are working with the windows explorer. You might want to disable thumbnail previews for files/folders.
How to do it:
1. To make this change, click on organize anywhere in the windows explorer.
2. select "folder and search options" on the menu that is displayed.
3. Click the View tab, and then check "Always show icons, never thumbnails" checkbox.
4. Click apply and then click OK.
Results:
You will notice that from now onwards, your computer won't show thumbnail previews on files/folders.
